Here's why Hayden Wilde has been riding Cyclowax since 2023

Some partnerships start with a contract. This one started with a hot-waxed chain. Hayden Wilde first started using Cyclowax back in 2023. No official partnership, just a Cyclowax customer. No sponsorship announcement. He simply made the switch to hot wax and kept using it. Fast forward three years and Hayden is a T100 World Champion, Olympic silver and bronze medallist, and one of the best triathletes in the world. So when we recently visited him at his home in Andorra and found three Cyclowax heaters in his workshop, we figured it was probably time to make things official. Hayden Wilde is joining the Clean Chain Club®.

Possibly the most organised athlete we've ever met

Spend five minutes inside Hayden's workshop and you quickly understand something about him. Everything has its place. Chains, quick links, tyres, tools, spare parts, etc.

Drawer after drawer, labelled and organised.

Even his coffee beans are organised by flavour and strength. We're used to working with professional athletes who obsess over their equipment, but Hayden takes it to another level. And when you compete at the very highest level of triathlon, that attention to detail makes sense.

Three sports. Three completely different sets of equipment, training, nutrition, recovery, travel. Being a professional triathlete is as much about management as it is about swimming, cycling and running. And chain management is just one small part of it.

clean chain hot wax

“I can't imagine ever going back to oil or liquid wax. I'm looking for every marginal gain I can get. And a Cyclowaxed chain is just a game changer. Always clean, always fast."

- Hayden Wilde, World Champion Triathlon

Every marginal gain matters

At Hayden's level, there aren't many easy gains left to find. Everything has already been optimised. Bike position, aerodynamics, tyres, nutrition, training. So the smaller details become increasingly important.

That's one of the reasons Hayden switched to hot wax in the first place. A clean, efficiently prepared chain means less friction and fewer watts lost between his legs and the road. And when you're racing against the best triathletes in the world, those marginal gains matter.

Hayden knows that better than most. In 2025, he won six of his seven T100 starts on his way to becoming T100 World Champion that year.

Bronze, Silver, Gold.

There is still one result Hayden is chasing: Olympic gold.

At Tokyo 2020, he took bronze. In Paris, he went one better, taking silver after leading much of the 10km run. Next stop: Los Angeles 2028. And knowing Hayden, the preparation for LA won't start a few months before the Games.

It's already happening. Every training session, every piece of equipment, every watt, every marginal gain.

We'll make sure the chain is taken care of.

Get the same gear Hayden is riding with

Calling this a new partnership feels a little strange. Hayden has already been riding Cyclowax for three years. We're simply making it official. We're incredibly excited to have him on board, learn from one of the world's best triathletes, and support him as he chases the biggest goals in the sport.

The good news is, you can get the same products Hayden is using below:
